Exit strategy for families stuck in Cambodia?

The legal nightmare of Cambodian surrogacy continues, but it appears that a breakthrough might be approaching. The Cambodia Daily newspaper reported last month that work was being undertaken to expedite a strategy to permit families to leave Cambodia with the babies born through surrogacy.  Information on how this is developing seems pretty thin on the ground so there is still no end in sight for the families caught up in this most recent cross-border situation. https://www.cambodiadaily.com/news/exit-strategy-for-babies-born-to-surrogates-awaiting-approval-125888/

Foreign couples whose babies were carried by Cambodian surrogates will be able to leave the country with their children if a new temporary exit plan is approved by the prime minister, a government official said. Chou Bun Eng, secretary of state with the Interior Ministry and vice chair of the national committee to combat human trafficking, said the plan would cover babies already born to surrogates in the country and unborn children being carried by Cambodian women.
