Support after diagnosis of abnormality in pregnancy
I am incredibly excited to announce the launch of our new website providing information and support to women and couples who have had abnormalities detected in pregnancy. This website helps guide you through the decision making process of whether or not to continue the pregnancy. For those who do choose to terminate, further support and advice is available. There are also suggestions for family and friends of how they can best assist during this difficult time. Very importantly, we have added an online support forum, which will be closely moderated by psychologists, where you can talk to others going through the same situation. We are online at www.apdsa.com.au and we are on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Abnormal-Pregnancy-Decision-Support-Australia-1929996853937509/
I want to thank the very wonderful Laura Grace (Provisional Psychologist from UQ) who has put countless hours into getting the website to this stage and continues to inject passion into this exciting initiative. I also wish to extend huge thanks to all of the women who agreed to discuss their experiences of having an abnormality diagnosed, as it is their voices that have shaped the way we have designed the website. Big thanks also to the many professionals who have give their time providing feedback on the content to help ensure we are providing the best possible information to families during this confusing and challenging time in their lives.
