The (overly) complex world of surrogacy

This article from the weekend West Australian newspaper discusses the complexity of domestic surrogacy, and how this is serving as a disincentive for people to find a surrogate within Australia. In my view it is complete madness to create a system which actually makes people view cross border surrogacy as being the easiest choice, and thereby cause them to potentially make emotionally, physically and financially risky decisions in their family creation.  It is seriously overdue that Australia creates consistent and streamlined surrogacy processes, and families were terribly let down by the 2016 Federal review into surrogacy led by MP George Christensen.
